Response to COVID-19 Pandemic
** Clay & Company’s Response to COVID-19 Pandemic**
Clay & Company’s primary response to the COVID-19 pandemic is to adopt policies and measures to protect the health of our clients and employees. Just like you, we are monitoring new developments regarding COVID-19 closely.
We also feel that we have an obligation to maintain your services and provide advice during an unprecedented time of uncertainty and volatility.
The situation is changing rapidly and we are adjusting as quickly as possible. Below is some guidance that will help you remain informed.
A Safe Environment
As a part of our regular focus, we follow best practices to ensure that our offices are a clean and safe environment for all, and we have been proactive in implementing additional measures focused on the safety of our people, clients, and guests, continuing to adapt as circumstances change. Our approach has been informed by the guidance of governmental agencies and public health officials.
Visiting Clay & Company
If any of the following circumstances apply to you and you have a scheduled appointment at one of our offices or plan to drop by, please call ahead to reschedule your appointment, or choose to have the appointment by phone or video conference instead. This would apply if you are (1) not feeling well in any way, (2) if you have traveled outside of Canada within the past 14 days, or (3) if you have interacted with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
We are also rescheduling most in person meetings and conducting such meetings over the phone to reduce the potential for the virus to spread.
We understand that for some engagements there are elements of our work that cannot be done remotely, and we’ve requested that our Clay & Company people coordinate with our clients, and we will respect the policies or guidelines that you share with us relating to attendance at your premises. As noted above, phone or video conference is preferable, if possible.
We understand that the current situation is extremely disruptive and that you rely on Clay & Company for guidance. We will do our best to remain current and will actively communicate with you as the situation evolves.
As of March 16, 2020 Clay & Company is not planning on closing our office.
We have advised our staff to stay at home if members of our team are symptomatic or have suspected exposure to the virus.
We are working quickly to allow most of our staff to work from home with remote access. We are having any calls to lawyers or assistants forwarded to that person’s cell phone.
We are able to make most transactions while out of the office.
Given that many people will be working under different conditions and environments please expect potential delays in processing certain transactions.
If you are able, please send us documents or records by fax or email. If you do not have access to fax or email, please mail or drop off in person to our office. If we receive physical records through drop off or mail the records will be quarantined for 3 days.
