Peter is an experienced litigator and courtroom lawyer. Since his call to the Bar, he has practiced exclusively as counsel, appearing in all levels of the courts of British Columbia, the Federal Court, and a range of regulatory tribunals. He worked at a major Canadian law firm before spending several years as a prosecutor for the United Nations in Africa, and has appeared as counsel and commission counsel at major public inquiries.
He has appeared in a varied range of cases – criminal, commercial litigation, construction disputes, bankruptcy, estate, and personal injury. His practice remains broad despite some emphasis on commercial, construction and estate disputes. He has also acted for a number of societies in matters related to human rights complaints, employment matters, and financial issues. He has been counsel at arbitrations and mediations and recommends mediation to a number of clients.
His varied experience is a valuable asset to many clients whether it’s in a commercial dispute, cross-examining an informant in Provincial Court, resolving estate matters, or addressing a human rights complaint. Peter is active is assisting several Africa based organizations and volunteers monthly to provide legal advice through Access ProBono.
